Beautiful posture thanks to Pilates!

Finding time for a little exercise can sometimes be a real challenge in a busy schedule. The key is to find an activity that appeals to you and meets your expectations.

My starting point is that this activity has to be fun if it’s to be effective, and that it won’t bore us over time.

I’d like to share with you some activities to try out and simple exercises to reproduce, which won’t waste your time and will have several uses.

Pilates, a complete discipline!

I don’t know about you, but I used to be the type of person who would join a gym and be bored to tears after a few months…

Repeated movements to hysterical music, with no sense or correction from the coaches, works for some people, but personally it’s not my thing…

They don’t teach you much, except to hurt yourself. Movements made without awareness or concentration will only produce short-term results.

That’s why, after a lot of research and trying out different classes, I became interested in the Pilates method. I wanted to improve my muscle tone on stage and correct my posture and that of my students during the stripping classes.

Routine

With one class a week, you can already see results after a month and a half. By results, I mean a desire to stand up straighter, a flatter stomach, and more energy.

The best is 2 sessions a week.

If you’re not very athletic and you’re hesitating with yoga sessions, I’d say starting with pilates is a good thing. You’ll feel muscles you didn’t know existed before, which will wake up and help you perform exercises more effectively. You won’t injure yourself, especially your lumbar and cervical vertebrae.

In my opinion and I weigh my words, pilates should be taught at school … We would avoid so many bad positioning later, scoliosis etc. …

Every day in the Pilates studios, the coaches help many injured dancers, all of whom come away with this thought: “but why weren’t we taught this method before we started our training…”.

A brief before-and-after look at the benefits of Pilates sessions on the spine:

More

Classes are given in small groups of 7 people maximum.

If you hear of courses where there are more than 10 of you, don’t bother!

Pilates requires correction by the teacher throughout the course to be effective. You won’t get any results if you’re not properly guided: this method is very precise and requires a lot of practice before it can be carried out alone at home.

Equipment

Exercises are performed on “Mat” mats or “Reformer” machines, with accessories such as the “magic circle”, “roller”, “swiss ball”, small ball or latex ribbon.

Rates :

One group lesson / 20 euros or 180 euros for 10.

One lesson/65 euros, duo/50 euros, trio/40 euros.

My results

I can say that Pilates is the ultimate discipline for improving body awareness, posture and muscle tone, as well as concentration.

I’ve really noticed the difference in toning my body at all levels, and especially in my abdominal muscles, which in Pilates we call the “power house”.

Every muscle is involved, and you’ll even discover some you didn’t know existed until now!

After a session, you feel connected, you feel your whole body and you’re full of energy.

At first, it takes a little perseverance to build up the deep muscles. After a month and a half, with one or two sessions a week, you’ll be able to start appreciating the results and enjoying this dance of movement.
