I met Catherine quite by chance, one evening when we had lost our set for a shoot with my photographer.… I posted a message on Facebook and Catherine generously welcomed us into her lovely home…
A meeting that also introduced me to her many talents, including the creation of jewelry like no other …
Tell me about it?
I have been a jewelry designer for 40 years(!) for the great Maisons of Place Vendôme, and for the last 5 years for my brand “16ème Sud”, which has a strong ethical, fair trade, feminist identity!
I’ve designed a collection of upcycling silver jewelry, “Le cercle vertueux”, and another of erotic jewelry I call “Éloge de la connivence”…
Éloge de la connivence” is a collection of erotic jewelry created by Catherine Tisseuil under the “16ème Sud” label. These jewels have the particularity of not revealing their erotic function at first glance.
How would you describe female desire and its evolution?
I have the feeling that female desire is expressing itself more freely, but at the same time is still centered on stereotypes of seduction.
Each of us has in mind the silhouette, the postures and the accessories that say “follow me young man”! And it works so well that we forget to ask ourselves what we really like, apart from pleasing.
I believe that the self-confidence that comes from knowing one’s own desires, where one’s pleasure comes from, is much more seductive and fulfilling.Burlesque moves the lines, and I hope my jewelry does too!
How do you create your jewelry, (designs, inspirations, materials .. )
The jewels are “sentimental” most of the time, celebrating the important moments of life, love, and making love! Depending on the region of the world or the era they come from, their erotic art is much more precise than ours.
As jewelry, whether humble or more sumptuous, is our daily companion, we have a tactile and skin-to-skin relationship with it: it’s my first inspiration.
They may have been offered to us, or chosen at a moving moment: that’s my second thought.
Finally, they parent us, they are vectors of seduction, and that’s what’s essential.
Manufacture :
The materials are noble, luxurious, hypoallergenic (!) with silver, gold, pearls, diamonds, and made in Paris.
The “Mon-rouge-à-lèvres ” ring can be varnished at will with the nail polish of your choice, and, at the chosen moment, worn open on the finger, very suggestively.
Erotic creation and jewelry, a message for women?
My answers revolve around connivance, a place of shamelessness multiplied tenfold by confidence, a place of shared culture, invented between oneself and for oneself, the memory of which stimulates desire… My jewels are messengers!
They give a woman the opportunity to be explicit about her desire, and by wearing them to prepare for it, which is an effective preliminary!
The “Mes-douces-perles” long necklace is also a thong, with pearls located at the point of rapture; its double wear is as erotic as it is humorous: “j’ai mis mon string autour du cou”!!!
Your secret to seduction
My secret is loud: I laugh!
What are your plans and desires?
Create more and more jewels!
The “Mon-noeud-te-chatouille” ring is a symbol of attachment and can be adorned with ticklish feathers at will.
The “Ton anneau-ma-perle” pendant is a cockring revisited with a massaging pearl that spins on its axis, available in a diamond version, set in a “starry night” setting, or with a Tahitian pearl.
