Located at the foot of the Butte Montmartre, Cabaret La Nouvelle Eve is one of the oldest and most elegant Revue Theaters in Paris.
At the moment Revue
the “Sea Girls”!
In my last article “Burlesque et burlesque…”, I told you about my experience at Le Samovar during a clowning workshop with Charlotte Saliou! Well, I’ll have you know that during this workshop I met 4 amazingly talented and funny girls, four inseparable friends on stage and in life, “The Sea Girls”!
I think I had more fun watching them perform on stage than I did myself. I nearly died laughing when I saw them clowning around, and that memory still makes me smile.
I’ve just seen their show for the first time, which is currently playing at “La Nouvelle Eve”, the legendary Parisian revue theater.
They succeed brilliantly in combining the codes of the great Parisian revues, with their beautiful costumes, and the music hall with their parodic, gritty lyrics. “To sing the sordid with lightness and the absurd with certainty” is the credo of the Sea Girls. The clownish burlesque humor that makes this revue unique and offbeat without losing the charm and magic of the glamorous icon, all with great talent.
I’m literally a fan, and recommend this show 300%.
